I know just looking at it gives me the shivers. i caught one once that filled the rim of a pint glass, this one is just a wee bit smaller.

The other night i brushed my head against a light that hangs pretty low and felt something in my hair. I brushed it away and my son starts shouting at me *look at that huuuuuuuuuge spider*
i turned round and hes pointing at my head. So of course i start dancing like granddad at a party and the thing runs down my face.
My son said that he thought it fell off run across the floor so i calm down and start to look for it to put it outside. As i'm searching i feel something on my neck and flick this thing onto the floor and i swear to god it turned round and smiled to me before diving behind some furniture. Ive never been so scared in my life! i'm getting the shivers just thinking about it

Did you find out what kind of spider that is? There are really big spiders like that around where I live too, but they look different. Their legs are fatter..

I am not sure mate. I thought it was just a common house spider. I am going to find out now you said that

I didnt catch it in the end as i was too busy trying to recover, its still lurking

Ive always known them as garden spiders and the ones with the tiny bodies and huge long thin legs are harvester spiders.

Hubby has one of those huge ones with the thick legs that look like little tarantulas in the garage, will see if hes brave enough to show me so i can get a pic. Hubby is more scared of them than me, if it had landed on him i wouldve been in A&E with him
