I just got 5 tropical fish, and the desk which the tank is on has speakers on a shelf underneath the top. I'm wondering if the vibrations from the speakers when I play music are going to upset the fish too much? It's only gone up to medium loudness and the fish seem fine; having said that I'm new at this and don't know if it's the best of ideas, so I figured I'd ask.

I'm under the impression this can stress them quite a lot, more so on a night time when the light is off. If you could I would suggest moving the tank or the speakers, or better yet use headphones!

I have been using headphones ever since my Betta moved in next to my PC since I don't want him thinking he's going back to his homeland when he sees me playing BFBC Vietnam.

Most fish are subseptable to vibrations, apparntly Tetras being among the most sensitive.

You said that you are new at this, may I ask how long you have had the tank & fish for?

Thanks so much. I'll move the speakers tonight- I wasn't sure how bad it was for them. And poor Betta! Good to hear you're keeping him out of the battlefield.
