Spawners - Quickie Advice Please

Hi

The fry are 2 days old and we have noticed today that quite a lot of them are making the journey across the tank. Taro (Dad) is not being as vigilant as he was, only putting the odd one or two back in the nest.

Should we be removing him now??

if the majority of the babies are free swimming and dads not paying much attention to them anymore it might be a good idea to remove him now before he starts snacking!

Thanks for that. We've noticed he is still collecting the odd one or two and taking them back to the nest, so I think he'll be coming out very soon. Just wanted to know what someone else would do.

Yep...i'd get him out just to be on the safe side

Pull him out. But watch out because a few will get into the tank with him and you need to spoon them back into the fry tank.

Fry are having their first meal but no idea yet how many.
