Somehow one of my male bettas got through the divider to another (4 males in 1 tank divided up) 1 just has torn fins which will heal (he is the trouble causer)
The other males eye is swollen am thinking the other one went for his eye and got it

Will it heal? How can i stop infection?

Tank size: 60l
pH: 7.2
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 10
kH:n/a
gH:n/a
tank temp: 26

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): 1 eye bulging out, he still moves it and can see out of it as he responded to my finger, he is less active, am thinking this is due to shock, he has eaten

Volume and Frequency of water changes: 50% every 2 weeks (more now due to injury)

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Ready cycled filter, Dechlorinator

Tank inhabitants: now 3 Male Bettas & 8 Kuhli 2"

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): few plants

Exposure to chemicals: not that i know of

Any advice would be great

I can't tell from the photo but is it pop eye?

I've treated for pop eye before - I replied the following to the "angelfish with pop eye" threat in here...

When my female betta had pop eye, I treated her with myxazin (spelling) and after a few days the size of her eye halved. Now at the end of the first week and waiting 2 days there was no more improvement so I treated her again and her eye went back to normal, but I left her alone for a few days just to make sure it didn’t come back. She’s been ok since – that was about 3-4 weeks ago.

Popeye due to injury should clear just fine on its own with clean water, as will any bumps/scrapes/fin damage.
I would resist medicating unless absolutely necessary. Just keep on top of water changes (try to do partials every day if possible) for a week and if no improvement by then THAT might be the time to think about using meds.
good to have on hand tho just in case. But in this particular situation i think he will be just fine without meds. Meds can knock the fish a bit so would add undue stress IMHO. Give some extra bloodworms thru the week to help the healing and fin regrowth.
all the best!
cheers

Thanks Loraxchick, i'm not a great big fan of meds if i'm honest, will definately give him a week see how he goes before treating, will do small water changes daily and will add an extra sponge filter to his end of the tank :good:

Thanks for your help guys

Glad to see him alot better :) it looks almost back to normal :) Nice one :good:
