could anyony tell me why my blue peacock keeps spitting out his food. he is so skinny his stomach is caving

Maybe he dosent like the food you are giving to him.

Is this a new addition or is it a fish that has suddenly stopped eating, but has always eaten well?

Is he in an african cichlid tank with the proper setup?

he isnt a new fish and i have been feeding him all different foods and he goes nuts racing around after the food but just keeps spitting it out

Again, he might not like the food you are giving him. Try simething different, like frozen brine shrimp and blood worms.

If he has emaciation in the abdomen its likely he has the quite common skinny disease(not the actual disease but a symptom) Malawi's are known to get this, usually its the females that suffer after holding for a long time + without feeding. He needs to be treated and wormed, believe it or not interpets swim bladder/ interpet anti internal bacteria treatment is a great cure for this but he MUST be wormed to, to give him that extra boost (Usually these treatments i find are useless and dont seem to be concentrated enough)
