Seems like I'm about to lose my 2" rotkeil severum unless anybody could help me figure out a way to safe him....Anyways last friday night I re aquascape my tank, took about a couple of hours, but all the fish seems to be happy and doing good afterwards until the next day I noticed my severum being really shy and dark and breathing a little heavy. I also noticed white feces which indicates that it might have something to do with a internal parasite.....I actually lost a small jurupari just recently with the same symptom.....I already dose some epsom salt, I've seen this in the past when I used to keep african cichlid and when they bloat there used to be some tablets that they sold in the LFS and now they are discontinued......does anybody have any ideas on how to treat this situation....thanks......

Long stringy white poo can be consipation, bacterial infection, internal parasites.
Does he look thin or bloated.
What do you feed the fish.
Going darker in colour can be a symtom of a bacterial infection.
Check his anus to see if its enlarged or red and inflamed.

as of now he's still the same size and not bloated, but the color has gone and he's dark and in hiding....He was fine just last friday, I guess he got stress out when I re aquascape my tank....I was feeding him along with all the fish with nls pellets, sprulina flakes, tetra colorbits, and frozen bloodworms or brineshrimp once in awhile as a treat.....

You need to improve there diet more with some more frozen foods and veg.

Being dark in colour and heavy breathing can be a sign of a bacterial infection.
Does he flick and rub just to rule a parasite out.

I would feed some peas first to see if that clears the long stringy white poo up.

No he doen't flick or rub himself and he's not eating either.....you think it's the river rocks I found outside...I'm sure I washed it pretty good....

Best to steralise rocks in boiling water.
If no signs of flicking and rubbing he could have a bacterial infection.

What size tank is this and what other fish are in it please?

Water stats, ammonia and nitrIte most importantly.

Sev's are very good sulkers, but loss of colour and not eating is pointing to something more serious, can you isolate him to a tank alone, any chance of a pic it may help.
