Something To Worry About?

well I collected the discus at the weekend and i've just noticed today one has something hanging from it's side (looks like a white worm). now I haven't wormed them as I have been told they have been done twice before. thought I better see what people thought, so here is a pic

The pic is a bit small and the link just takes you to image shack, which doesn't help id the problem. However, if you are talking about the little white thing sticking out the side above and behind the eye, then it looks like the start of hole in the head disease.
It is common in cichlids that have been kept in below average water quality and is treated with metronidazole.
