I'm looking for a more unusual fish to add to my 40g community (kind of_) tank,

Currently in the tank I have:
1 fire dwarf gourami,
6 (long-finned) Zeebra Danios
1 Dojo Loach
1 Red-tailed shark
2 (wag) Plattys

I was thinking of killifish but there usually in single species tanks, so that worries me.... also that they are harder to feed.

A killifish is my idea of exotic, and unusual fish..... There's my taste of what I like so now I'm open to suggestions.

Hows the dojo doing in tropical temps?

I was a bit worried about the dojo too, although he does quite nice in there. The temp. is around 76 F. He's very active all the time and I believe he's doing fine.

I didn't intend to have the dojo, it was my friends and he offered it to me, instead of giving it to the fish store.

Overall he's doing fine.

Dont worry about the dojo, i have some myself. BUT, dojos like to have company of their own species, so i suggest you get atleast 1 more dojo loach. The more you have, the more active they become.

I wouldn't expect my dojo to get any more active.... He's constantly swimming about the aquarium 24/7 (literally), but I will consider to invest in maybe 1 or 2 more dojos.

So how about the rams?

Well forget the active part since it alrdy active, they are very playful with each other. Just go buy a friend or two. My dojo's piss me off... When i bought my first one, he was always out and active. 2 months later i bought a really nice looking one that was hiding. Now since the 2nd always hides and is extremely skittish of me, my first one now hides and is very skittish. Advice: Buy the dojo's that are out and not hiding...
