Something I Want To Try.

I drew up this plan along time ago.. it was going to be for my 15 gallon after I upgraded it but een with 2.6 WPg, floraite (which is total crap), and co2 plants still don't grow in it.

Key:
1- Either HC or Glossa
2 - Hairgrass
3 - Riccia
4 - some sort of fern like plant.

anyway, I was thinkign the hill would probably be made of several layers of metal wire mesh.. the inner core of the hill would have some sort of UGF inside it. the other hill would be hollow for fish and such.

I actually want to persure this a bit. so.. what will I need?

Not sure what you'll need but it looks like a nice idea. Remember that 2.6 wpg on a small tank is't the same as 2.6wpg on a larger tank, and may mean that the glosso will grow upwards instead of carpetting.

you could use gravel to bulk up the hill as it's cheaper than using all your other substrate there. Also be careful with the metal mesh, it might corrode. What about some plastic matting, like gravel tidy?

I'd be interested how you're going to make the hill hollow though without all the stuff falling through the edges
