Twice ive seen some little creature in my tank. Its not a fish!!

its about 2-3mm looks like a tiny wee snail and was moving over the glass. Its vry hard to notice against the gravel cause it blends right in....what the hell is it??? some kind of bacteria or something?? How would it get in my tank??

It probably was a snail.

I had a ten gal aquarium with mollies once and all of a sudden one day there were a butt load of snails. Confused the crap out of me. If you buy a new plant or fish and sometimes food, they could get in. I still don't know what it was that I got them from. I wound up taking that tank down anyhow. It was weird. They were REALLY tiny too.

Yea probably a snail did you add plants or fish if you added plants it might havecome in on them. Darn everyone gets snail for free I need some and cant find any. lol

 When I buy live plants I tend to get baby snail in my tank. I take them out because I don't want them multiplying. It's evan common to get other live things in your tank. Most of the time they are harmless.

If you can see it, it definitely wasn't a bacteria.

Assuming you have live plants, it's a snail.

It can also be a river limpet (if it is small and white-transparent looking with a small dark spot and no obvious shell) you will get a lot of them in a new tank.

Those and snails will mainly come in with plants and will not do any harm...untill they multiply then they can cause damage to plants, especially common snails which can grow pretty big (I recently took out one which was over 1cm long after a month of noticing it being about 3mm).

Too many snails and things will also cause excess waste and ammonia and what not so its best to take them out before they reporduce too much, if you want them in there in the first place.

But then again they will also be seen grazing on the algae on the glass which you could say is a good thing.
