hi guys,

i really need help with a centerpiece for my55g, just something that just stands out :) i was thinking oscar but i think there too big?

but im stumped i got know clue :/ help >?

the stocking :

3 austrailian rainbows

4 angels

1 common plec( probably taking back)
I would up the rainbows to 6 first. Once the commons gone you could get
3 Pimelodus pictus Or 2 BNs
8 corys
pair of keyhole cichlids or Laetacara dorsigera/Red-Breasted Acara or Laetacara curviceps/Dwarf Flag Cichlid or Laetacara thayeri

hmmm, keyholes would be nice ;)

i always wanted them for my 30g but i could have them in this tank ;)

im gunna look for keyholes, but anyone else with anyother suggestions

I picked up 2 Aequidens metae this week, gorgous little fish, now they are settling they are quite inquisitive and only reach around 5"

Where did you get them? I really want a pair for my 150G once its running.

Got them from Maidenhead Aquatics at Mere Park, they only had 4 I had 2 and Minxy had the other 2.

Hmmmm. Awkward.

The plec will have to go at some point. The tank is simply not big enough to take it anywhere near into adulthood.

Rainbows are often thought to be better in larger groups, but if the dynamics within your 3 are good already, then I see no need to change things.

Tp be honest, with 4 x good-sized angels and 3 x full sized rainbows, I'd say a 55G is getting near full for midwater space already. Personally, if I was to add anything, it would be a shoal of tetras, to add movement and colour, but not much bioload.
If you are dead set on a larger, more "centrepiece" type fish, then you would be hard pushed to do better than something like a sajica, or rainbow cichlid or a blue acara.

Ah bit far for me anyway. You have to get some pics when you can. there stunning fish.

If you look on the thread Star4 * Minxy's day out there are pics of Minxy's on there :good:

gold sev would be too big but rottie would be ok size not sure about with the current fish though

sorry havent replied for a few day (been camping) ,

yehh the austrailian rainbows get big and the angels but i never really liked them from the beginning soo,if i got rid of them what are my choices?

and ui was just checking online about chocolate cichlids and the majority of what i read on multiple sites said the reccommened size tank s 55g, is this true? just making sure it doesnt sound right?
