Hi Guys...

I got a beautiful blue betta at my LFS a couple of days ago, now its gone.

I have the following in My tank and one fish I cant identify...

3 x Clown Loaches
8 x Neons
6 x Glo-Light Tetras
5 x Black Neons
2 x Angel
1 x Kribensis
3 x Swordtails
1 x Red Tail Black Shark

Now the unidentified fish is nocturnal and about 5" long, a smooth silver grey in colour and has red fins and tail. Doesnt look like the red finned shark pics I have seen tho.

Please help...

Aw, that's a shame. :(

I can't see anything on that list that would kill your betta to eat it. It might just be the case that the betta died and was eaten after.

You'll have to try find out what the nocturnal unidentified fish is, try posting a picture of it or looking through some websites pics.

How big is your tank, how long has it been going and what are the parameters?

Are you sure it didn't jump out of the tank? Betta's are known for jumping and being found later dried out behind the tank. You might want to check to make sure. :dunno:

Yeah try and get a pic of that nocturnal fish, then maybe we all can narrow down the field and find out who did the deed!
Shame though!

Cheese, I spent 5 min watching your avatar, COOL, I love tetris!

How big is the tank, as red tailed sharks can become aggresive if the tank isn't big enough.

Have i just been really lucky with my Red Tailed Black Shark, or do they have a really bad reputation which they don't nessecarily (sp?) deserve?

It's a fully grown female (90% sure, it's hard to tell) and she's never been aggressive with any of my other fish.
