No Oscar sorry, he/she would get way to big and messy. But the Angels would work fine. A pair would be great for a 29 gallon tank with maby a school of some tetra.

i also have a question about the oscars though i was reading in a book that an oscar can be in a 29-gallon but you would have to clean it everyday and after every feeding time! i thought that would be alot of stress on the fish wouldent it?

Definately and what happens if you have no time to clean it or you go away on vacation or something. Also, the Oscar, if it's growth is not stunted, it will not be able to turn around in such a small tank once it gets large.

True True well i ahve another question with the angels if thats what im going to do what kind of tetras or could you eliminate then and get another pair of angels?

Really you should have only one breeding pair in a tank that size. Actually, to minimize the agression of the paired angles on the other fish, I would strongly recommend if you want other tank mates to keep a single angel. The only tetra's I would aviod would be neons as sometimes they can be eaten once the angel gets big enough to eat them.

ok cool ll go to the pet store tommarow and ask you about other choices instead of angels if you dont mind thansk man and sleep tight!

I have 3 large angels in a 30 long with

3 large tiger barbs
2 blue rams
too many trumpet snails

I had until recently

1 medium bicher
1 small pleco

Everyone got along just wonderfully.

The angels didn't pic on the neons (when I had them) But then got the bicher and he ate them. ALL. :( Pet store didn't advise that eely was a natural preditor. :(

I see absolutly no reason why you wouldn't be able to have 3 angels in your 29. It's taller than mine, they might like that better as angels tend to be taller then they are wider. Some large tetra type fish, smaller neon might ver well get eaten.

But if you get your angels smallish and your neons largish, and they aclimate and you keep everyone well fed with a varity, flake, frozen brine shimp and blood worms, i don't see your angels going after your neons. They won't be able to at first and once they are large enough, wont' want to as its too much work seeing how good food comes for free. This has been my expirience in fish keeping and reading.

I would advise against the pleco unless you are upgrading the 29 to a 55 or larger at some point. They get pretty darn big.

You can see by my sig, what i have in mine, (typo, it's a 30 long, not a 29. I need to change that) Everyone dose just dandy!!

Cool sounds good yarra!!!! thanks for all the help i might need some later but ill keep you posted!!

yeah definately not an O, I'd recommend 75g minimum for one.

angels need tall tanks, make sure your is at leats 18" tall, if not then don't get any. If the tanks tall you could have 2/3 but I'd only recommend that if you have somewhere you could move them/the other fish if they start to breed cos angels can be very nasty at breeding time. If not then just get 1 angel as a centerpiece fish with some smaller fish.

I think reasonably heavily planted with 1 angel, 6 congo tetra's, 6 cory's and 1 shoal of smaller fish (rasbora, tetra, danio type things) would look really good :good:
