Hello,
I don't think i have posted here before, maybe i have well thats sorta irrelevent.
I have a 24"x12"x12" tank and i was wondering if i could make it a planted tank (good size? etc)
I would like to buy these plants to start, are they ok?

Also, i have seem some Co2 tablets around my LFS and ebay are they any good?

Oh, i have a light i brought from ebay that i was going to use for my marine tank but i broke the cover glass (haha dont ask) and i had to get a hood because my firefish jumps. Is it usless to me?

(if thats not the one i have its similarm its still boxed and not used.)

The tank i want to use an ex fry tank so i have heater, juwel filter that came with it could all do with a clean, sould i get some pics?

I just want a really simple tank, few plants and (i know its early to think about fish) but maybe 5 tiny fish. pygmy rasbora or the like.

Sorry for my lack of knowlege in the aquarium plant world, i have 7 fish tanks at the mo and other than pond weed in betta tanks i have some non-aquatic plants i got at a LFS (bloody sold them as aquatic) i have had for about 6 months which are sorta dying now.

I am going to read the pinned threads and if anyone has any usful info please let me know,

Thanks and thanks for reading the jumbled thread.

Sean

The plant selection has a few easy and robust plants in it, so you should be OK with most of what you get.

The light you have linked to is similar to one I use alongside two 11W Arcadia Arc Pods on my 24l. I use it because it gives a good colour rendition alongside the Arcadias. I estimate your tank to be around the 15USG mark, so 11W really isn`t much light at all for plant growth. You could possibly consider adding just one more 11W light if you want success, but want to keep things simple.

With 11W or 22W of light, CO2 isn`t really a necessity and the tablets you are talking about are not much use, so I have heard. You could look into using Seachem Flourish Excel as a low tech CO2 substitute, maybe alongside Seachem Flourish as a fertiliser.

Dave.
