Some Pple Are Stupid

It may have very well been worth around £100 when it was bought it a year ago, just add all the stuff up-tank(including light)=£30, filter=£15, air pump=£15, decorations=£15 and food, siphon, chemicals, net and airstone=£20 + convenience of buying in a kit=£5. Total of £100.
Besides, the sellers are always optimistic and naturally want you to think you are getting a good deal, even if its not a good one :) .

Well the username is maidmarrion, maybe she's trying to steal from the rich :p

If it was new, it probably was over £100 when they bought it though..

hey, I'd pay £100 easy for it     Just gotta get me out the funny farm first  :hey:

I dont see the problem... It's a kit + extras that would have been £100 when bought new...

Its up for £50 startin so its not like its got a buy it now of £100 is it...

Its an auction after all. Give them a break...

If you want something to pick on , there was a 180L 4ft tank on there last week that had 2 Red Tail Catfish in it - Now thats worth mentioning.

What are the measurements for a Juwel Rekord 60 ?

Rekord 60

Volume: approx. 54 Litres

Measurements: 61 x 31 x 36 cm 2ft x 1ft x 1ft approx

So where lies the issue?

Starting bid is £50 and its only worth what people will pay, I recently sold a Sony cinema system that cost me £600 it was worth in my view at least £300 but it sold for £101 so obviously what we value our goods at isnt in reality what others do.

I would think if it doesnt sell the person will try again with a lower start bid and let it find its own price tag.

Its the tank i first got, which PaH call a 'large starter tropical kit' when it has a heater, although doesnt come with food or an air pump.... (so id guess food and an airpump and stone woudl take this kit up to the £100 mark)

If people are dumb enough to pay!

How does that not hold 50 L? That's around 12.5 gallons, which looks about right. I wouldn't call them stupid, maybe a bit inexperienced with selling on ebay.

I bought a tank off ebay the other month.

Said in the ebay ad:

80Ltr tank with heater, filter, lights and other bits.

2 large Angelfish, 1 shark, 2 little white fish, 2 little zebra fish, 2 cleaner fish and 1 little Tetra

I said how much would he accept to close the auction and he said £75. I agreed and this is what I got:

Fluval 125Ltr Tank (No scratches)
Fluval 3+ Filter
Fluval 150W heater
Hood with Sun Glo and Topical tubes in it (all working no cracks)

Bottom filled with 3 inches of Pea Gravel
2 Fake Plants
1 Fake Rock (Craggy style wuite nice)
1 large piece of bogwood and 1 large tree stump (upside down makes a cave/tunnel)

When we got there to pick it up we were told unfortunately that the shark and zebra fish had died! and that we only needed to pay £70 instead.

When we got home we found the 2 angelfish and tetra floating dead bodies. Put them in the bin. The 2 cleaner fish when transferred were 8 inch long Common Plecs. The 2 little white fish were White Balloon Mollies (One of which has died recently)

All in all for £70 we got the tank kit which with the water they gave us and the filter (kept in some water)is already cycled and new in P@H at the mo this tank kit is £120. some fish to start the tank off (although the plecs are now being rehomed) and some very nice ornaments (I have chucked the plastic plants in favour of the real thing.

THIS IS THE TANK IN MY AVATAR (SEE LEFT)

Long Live Ebay
