Some Of My Modelling Work

Dragonslair,

I assume you are a professional model and photographer to qualify you to dish out criticism like that?

Zoe is a beautiful girl and takes photos as a hobby. Is there really any need to slate her career and hobby in one go?

Would you like someone to do that to you? I don't think so.

If you can't be complimentary, why post at all?

Backtotropical

i saw nothing wrong with the post, i belive he or she is just giving some tips to make them better. nothing wrong about voicing your opinions.

Really? Since when was that law?

I saw nothing of the like. Constructive criticism will do her career and hobby good. It's always good to know where you can improve.

Would you like someone to do that to you? I don't think so.

Well, if it was going to help with my career, then yes.

If you can't be complimentary, why post at all?

Same could be said to you ;)

Well everyone is entitled to their opinion, and i wouldn't have posted like that. If i dont like someone's photos, thats entirely my choice, but i think constructive criticism has to be approached in the correct manner.

I may have read it in a context in which it was not intended, but as said, there is nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, and thats what i did. ;)

Lovely pictures, only thing i would say its more expression in the eyes, oh and light and angles
but yeah loads of potential
Great pics

To answer some of your concerns. First yes I have passed my qualifications to be a professional photographer. My specialist subject are nature photographs.
As I mentioned earlier, photography is subjective and it was only my opinion on the "subject" which was Zoe. I personlly think she looks lovely, but I felt some of the photographs did not do her justice. There was no offence intended.
Personally I would have use Zoe to better effect. Even if she took her own photographs I believe she may have improved on the subject value of the photographs, making and flattering her best features and camoflaging or disguising her less flattering parts.
Thank you to those who defended my advice/opinion and I appreciate the comments from others who may have thought that I was slateing Zoe. That could not be further from the truth.
I would like to know how Zoe feels about my comments.

I like the pics, but theres no point posting them if all that can be said is positive stuff

EDIT: not that Zoe said for one second "you can only post if its to say how lovely and beautiful and wonderful i am and what a fantastic photographer i am" LOL

The comment wasn't even that bad and perfectly polite i thought

Dragonslair,

I obviously read your your post in a manner which it was not intended, and if i did, i apoligise. I have amended my original post to avoid this thread going too far off topic.

Zoe, i think your photos are great. Keep up the good work. :good:
