I'm near the end of the recommended treatment for the goldfish and although they seem happy their ich is not completely gone. Should i discontinue the medication and hope for the best or contine for a little longer just to be safe?

Well should i? I need a reply since it's time for another dose

Make sure you read the instructions as you might have to preform anothr 30% water change before you redose.

Amazing that it's harder to keep goldfish than tropical fish.
They were fine and happy. I stopped the medication and two days later my males tail is disapearing.
Yesterday i noticed it was split a little, now i come home today and a quarter of it is gone. What's even stranger is that it doesn't look like an infection.

It is bacterial finrot seems to happen alot with whitespot, you will need interpet med, like anti internal bacteria, good luck.
