Picture one is a fish I had 2 decades ago, and have again - Hoplisoma (ex Corydoras) atropersonatum.

Number 2 is Hyphessobrycon margitae, according to the seller. They are very small and shy - very quick fish. It's hard to focus for a picture because they dart constantly, but there is a lot of blue in them.

I'm slowly getting it right. Part of the problem is there are so many species, and so many possibilities.

I wish I were "better at" the Cory group. I've always kept them well, but they are fish I want to breed. I've only succeeded with a couple, and once you get past the bread and butter ones, they would be worth working with. There's local demand for any extras, and they are fantastic in groups.

These little atropersonatum with their polka dots are neat little creatures. Polka dot dresses and moustaches - move over Mario Bros.

One of my favorite 'cories.' No thanks to any effort I made, my school of H. atropersonatum has grown from 8 to 14. I suspect because they are in a tank with the tiny Nannostomus anduzei the fry had a better chance of surviving the gauntlet.
