I thought I'd put up some more pics of my new 150g that I took today. It's starting to take shape now. I've changed the horrible background, put in a lovely piece of wood I found (and got robbed for!!) at my LFS, a few rocks and some fake plants. I'm not sure about the plants, but I'm definately going to get more rocks (hence why the water level is low so I can add more later today!!
Anyway let me know what you think, and any suggestions are welcome.

I've just noticed how dark the pics look. I took them during the day, so I'll try and get some better ones tonight!

Definatly needs a deeper substrate your glass is showing through in places, and if you decide to add real plants in the future it will be essental. Lovely tank though!

:D That really is a stunning tank! It's a shame manufacturers of dividers have to make them look so ugly, lol.

I agree that a bit more substrate would look even better. I see you've got your DVD and CD players in the cabinet - entertainment for the fish?

 Yes, they especially love the Die Hard Trilogy!!!!
As for the Divider, that is a makeshift one made from condensation trays for my old tank. I had to think of something quick to stop my severum killing the others!!

Oh yeah, and the glass is only showing through as the Oscar is ttrying to dig under the divider to get to the severum!!!!

do you have a closeup of the sev?

and could it b that the oscar is the aggressive one and the sev is simply protecting itself?

Here's a close up of the sev from a while ago in his old tank, but yes it is definately the sev. He's tanken a few chunks out of the Oscar. The oscar was minding his own business, and along comes the sev and bites him!!

Ah you lucky bugger, thats one step up from my Rena aquarium. They are really well made tanks much more superior to Juwel.

Id loose the fake plants and get some reall tougher ones, maybe java fern and anubias aswell as giant vallis (straight kind quite adaptable).

Just my opinion because i hate plastic plants, its like sacrilage lol.

Really like your Balas I have three also, but in my 5ft Juwel.

Yup, I agree, the fake plants are horrible, they're only there as a temporary measure until I get some real ones that will stand up. Having said that; none of the current occupants have tried to pull them up, so I may be OK with real plants!!
I agree with the Juwel thing though. I was looking at a Rion 400, but compared to the Renas, they look a bit substandard. Still great tanks, but these ones are just a cut above in build quality and looks!!
