Been to pets at home today for some new neons as I lost all mine a few weeks back due to a disease in my tank, so got these and they are currently in a quarantine tank.
So I was looking at the bettas as I do and came across these (picture added). They were classed as 'female fighter fish', the man working in the shop didn't even know what they were and said they will have just came in as female fighters. Are they a different specie?
They are tiny, about the size of some of my 3 month fry.
I bought 4 and set a tank up for them, I couldn't resist :) whether it was the right thing or not I have them now

For some reason they really remind me of Gourami Fry!, Can anyone else see it?

I bought a teeny tiny one yesterday, but you can tell she's a betta. I don't know about that one I'm no expert as you know lol.

What about emailing Steve at BettaSpelnedns? He's always helped me with questions and he's got a lot of experience, maybe he'll know.

You make me laugh you're as bad as me. You've got a load of baby bettas you've bred and you've still gone out and bought more lol

I want to get a group for my biotope, but it's looking like I'll have to specially order or buy online :(

I couldn't tell a thing from the first photo, but in the second one it def looks like a sparkling/pygmy gourami to me too! I know one Maidenhead Aquatics in Surrey that sells them, but nowhere anywhere round here! As far as I know they like to be kept in groups. ???

Why can you not keep them? They don't get too big, surely you could squeeze them in somewhere?
