Thanks Kiriyama I'll look it up. I bought some of both from pharmacy this morning so will do a PH check tonight. They seem happy enough. I had time against me this morning but I picked up every rock and looked under it and couldn't find the dead cyp. It must be in there. I hate disturbing them but shall I take all the rock out and rake through the substrate for it? What would you do if it were your tank?

Again it's just an individual thing, I would remove all the rocks at the same time, have a nosey round te filter fittings/pipework, ive the sand a light sifting , don;t go nuts , and check the rocks, it may have been munched but some of it will remain. I would han off for a few days to let them get settled before adjusting the pH, remember more stable is always better than higher.... Hope it all works out for you

oh oh meant to say, could it have sucked into the filter, or could it have jumped from the tank...? I lost 2 xenos the other week , jumpers.......

ok, I finish work soon so I'll have a good search. I did check the carpet but it's patterned ...typical! though the tank has a lid so I doubt it and I did count it in the tank so I haven't left it in the bag and chucked it (I did double check the bag! that would have been awful)I haven't checked the filter. I would have said it was too big but I'll check it out, thanks.

Just an update. I found the dead cyp thankfully.
