Okay, this might be a lengthy topic, but I want this little guy to live. :good:

A couple months ago, my sister got a Betta fish at PetSmart. (I was going to, but seeing them in those tiny little containers just made me loose it.) She named him Pebbles, because when we put in new rocks for him, the little ones float to the top and he attacks them. ANYWAYS, so he's successfully survived, and I want to keep it that way. (I'm the only one in the family that pays any attention to him, so, yeah...) We bought him a new tank that has an air filtration system. The noise seems to make him spazz and start twitching, so I only turn it on for 30 minutes a day. Just in case you're wondering, we don't feed him live food, and never will. We give him pellets. (I wouldn't be able to stand the sight of those poor, erm...whatever live food Bettas eat.....being killed.)

For Christmas, I got little Pebbles a bridge. He LOOOOVES that thing, and it's rare that I /ever/ see him come out from under it. When I do, he's either eating, examining bubbles, or, oddly enough....laying on top of it. I'm not sure if that's anything to worry about. Personally, I think it's cute.

Pebbles on his bridge. Sorry for the bad quality, I took this on my cell phone.

I've also noticed that some of the scales by his head are brownish, in contrast to his bee-yutiful shade of blue. Is that something to worry about? If so, please tell me what it is/how to cure or prevent it!

For your image, make sure it has .................... (no space) to make it viewable to the public. And congratszz on the new betta. Hope your befriend it and it befriends you. As for those brown scales, that's pure colouring. Both of my bettas have that and I believe its called a "mask". That's actually very cool that he likes his little bridge because all of my betta don't pay a cent's attention to them. Can you post a picture of the bridge?? Try to get a nice filter that is quiet, and makes low currents so that filtration can be made with less "spazzing" lol :p Good job on feeding him with pellets as his daily food. Make sure it is good quality. Instead of giving him live food, try giving him freeze-dried treats once in a while (I give it to them once a week). They'll love it. But make sure it isnt constant, no matter how much they beg you :p How big is your tank and do you have it heated? Temperature? It sounds like your doing great! Keep up the good work and ofcourse WELCOME TO FISHFORUMS :good: :D :D

Thanks. :) I fixed the image in the first post. Bad quality, I know, but oh well. The tank is, umm.... 1.5 gallons I think, and at room temperature.

very cute lil guy. Looks (from w.e I could make out) that he is a nice royal blue Veiltail. He looks in good condition and you put in a good sized home. Does it have a filtration system? And whats your room temperature?..It looks like your doing a great job :) Keep it up!!

Yes, I believe that's what he is. -snuggles cute little fishy- We generally keep his tank at room temperature, and yes it does have a filtration system but we only put in on for half an hour a day because it's loud and makes him spazz out.
