Okay, this might be a lengthy topic, but I want this little guy to live.
A couple months ago, my sister got a Betta fish at PetSmart. (I was going to, but seeing them in those tiny little containers just made me loose it.) She named him Pebbles, because when we put in new rocks for him, the little ones float to the top and he attacks them.
ANYWAYS, so he's successfully survived, and I want to keep it that way. (I'm the only one in the family that pays any attention to him, so, yeah...) We bought him a new tank that has an air filtration system. The noise seems to make him spazz and start twitching, so I only turn it on for 30 minutes a day. Just in case you're wondering, we don't feed him live food, and never will. We give him pellets. (I wouldn't be able to stand the sight of those poor, erm...whatever live food Bettas eat.....being killed.)
For Christmas, I got little Pebbles a bridge. He LOOOOVES that thing, and it's rare that I /ever/ see him come out from under it. When I do, he's either eating, examining bubbles, or, oddly enough....laying on top of it.
I'm not sure if that's anything to worry about. Personally, I think it's cute.
Pebbles on his bridge. Sorry for the bad quality, I took this on my cell phone.
I've also noticed that some of the scales by his head are brownish, in contrast to his bee-yutiful shade of blue. Is that something to worry about? If so, please tell me what it is/how to cure or prevent it!
