Sugar coating and nicely nicely? I don't think so
Hello there *waves* , this is my first post here and I have a question if anyone would be willing to help.
I am setting up a 15 gallon tank for growing my plant cuttings ( mostly Elodia ) , but I would also like to move one of my Kribensis into it if possible, as she is bullied a lot by the other one ( I suspect I have two females as neither seems to have the pointed style tail I have seen on males) and hides in the corner all day, only darting out to snatch food and then shooting back away into one of her hiding spots. It's such a shame because Kribs seem to have a lot of personality and I don't like to see one of my fish skulking in corners and looking dull and miserable.
But here is my question. I have been offered a free Betta from a friend of a friend who breeds them. He say's he has white ones, which sound very attractive. Would it be possible to keep the betta and the single Krib together in this 15 gallon tank? Since it is mostly for growing plants there would be plenty of cover for the betta as I have heard they do like to hide, and the Krib tends to swim around in the lower portions of the tank anyway.
The tank dimensions are 18 inches long X 15 inches from top to bottom x 12 inches front to back. I haven't set the tank up yet, as I am maturing the filter in my 30 gallon tank. Here's the tank as it is now( I have purchased a heater , gravel and already have a filter as you can see ) :

Do you think it's possible for them to get on if I add them to the tank at the same time?? worth trying? I would like to try, but if it doesn't work out then I can re-home my krib with my brother, but I am quite attatched to her and don't want to do that unless I have to. I am just really also enamoured of the offer of a white betta.
Any advice? has anyone tried this combination of fish before?
