So I wanted to get some soil to grow my plants in well. I was in a rush this morning so I went ahead and set it all up, only to find out later that I needed to mineralize the soil! Ugh. So is this a major problem that requires me to clean out the tank again, or can I leave the setup how it is?

What's the soil?  Provided you still use a plant food - both you and the livestock will mineralise it over time.
TBH once the bacteria start having a do I'd bet there's a reasonable amount of nutrition in any soil to grow aquatic plants....

I used EarthGro potting soil, which I also found out now that top soil is better for aquatic plants. Thanks for the tip! I just  hope the soil doesn't cause problems while it's mineralising.
