So Who Eats Fish? (not Tropical!)

I'm just curious - has being a fishkeeper stopped anyone eating fish? Fish welfare is obviously a high priority here with a lot of emphasis on fishless cycling to reduce any suffering to the fish. Just wondered if the same thoughts of welfare extended to the fish that are taken from the sea for the dinner plate?

I don't know if having fish as "pets" would stop you eating fish??!

I eat fish. I don't eat it much, but if it's there I won't turn it down.

I don't generally like any types of seafood but I do eat the occasional salmon or haddock...

I keep fish and eat fish, then again I keep a mammal (cat) and eat mammals (cows, pigs etc)

I actually don't eat beef, pork or poultry and the only meat that I eat is fish. Its extremely healthy. Keeping fish as a pet doesn't deter me from eating their wild cousins. That would be like not eating turkey because you have a parakeet or not eating beef because you have a horse.

I no longer eat any meat, but when I was little, I would hide the tuna where it wasn't in view of the aquarium, and I would cover the fishtank if I was taking tuna out to eat it, and I would quickly eat it in another room. I was afraid that if my fish knew I ate other fish, they would hate me.

Seriously, I love fish and shrimp but not crazy about crab. Nothing like a good shrimp cocktail with some hot horseradish sauce.

I eat trout and preaty much anything that comes out of the cold ocean..........would be sweet to be able to keep a brooktrout in a tank tho,preaty fish.

I eat fish, would be a hypocrit if i didnt, im a part time fishmonger, never been tempted to eat any of my tropicals though, dont get alot of meat off a cardinal tetra.

i eat every thing .if i lived in areas of tropical fish i would also eat them too.like lets say i lived where oscars came from and i kept oscars.id eat em.not the ones from my tank but as a wild resource , id much em down.
