don't drag down the thread, with the price... will breeding in a group occur, with this species, or is it going to be murder central, as they mature???

sounds like the seller ordered 6, and only got 1 male.. so it suddenly becomes a breeding group???

While most people won't have a large enough aquarium; a. elizabeth is a harem breeder so in an aquarium large enough for each female to establish their own territory it could in fact work.

Also whether dan knows it or not (and i doubt he does) a. elizabeth is relatively speaking less aggressive than some of the other species. Still you would want at least 48x24 floor space for so many females to be successful as adults and larger wouldn't hurt. The exact minimum size woudl depend a bit on the aggression level of individual fishes. Also the male would have to be sufficient large that the females find him appealing.

However as often seen at dan despite the positive reviews they have a lot of questionable practices....

That's one that in a six foot tank might end well. Maybe. In a 12 foot tank, I'd be downright optimistic, and an 18 footer would be natural... it's a tiny fish, but I would never buy that group. I suspect someone ordered six from an exporter and got just that. When they're small, they can't always be sexed easily, and that can leave you stuck.

At least the shipper didn't send him 5 males and 1 female. That would be 5 tanks.
