I was at my LFS last night and they are selling tickets to win a.... 700 gallon tank. It was on display. I don't know the exact dimenions but it was HUGE! $10 tickets and they will sell no more than 300. How Cool but then I thought what the heck would 99% of fish keepers do with such a big tank. I would have to put it in my two car garage. No way would a normal house hold that much weight. I have a concrete floor in my basement but I would have to cut a hole in the wall to get the tank in and even if I did that it would fill my rec room. After all of that I am still tempted... I would guess that tank at 3' X 3' X 10'. It was custom with two overflows.

Really were would you put it? I have a good idea of some monsters I would keep shovel nose catfish arawanas Or maybe some rays. The garage wound be the best place for it convert the garage into a fish room. But I like my garage for cars and junk myself.

Did you get a ticket? What would you do with it?

I went again last night just to stare at the tank. (And buy some stuff from since the previous night the cash registers were broken and nobody could buy anything). I did not buy any tickets. You are right snowflake I need my garage for my car. Also my wife told me I was getting an apartment if I got another tank. :)

It looks like the tank has a slate bottom. Never saw that before.

The base itself is made of slate? Or they may have simply cut a piece of slate to cover it? Either way that would make the tank even heavier than normal :S

Awesome, you could have some crazy stuff in there, or sell it for a heck of a lot of cash.

i would have a pleco and cat community tank. id have all the plecos i cant have at the moment due to there adult size being 12 inch's plus

I want it now!!! -sulks-
I would probably have some black acara in it or some oscars.

Xxx~misscosmo~xxX

If it was a Marine tank it would be a full blown reef with some of the bigger species
If it was a tropical tank I would go for a full blown planted biotope
If it was an African tank I would go full blown Malawi

oh a man can dream...

Haha, can't blame your bravery failing. Pike are great creatures :good: , but not when your fishing and they are right in your swim!

Oddly enough I'd have that as a coldwater tank with 3 or 4 really expensive, decent fancy Ryukin goldfish in it. Grow them on from babies and do it as it should be done. I'd have a load of redmoor root in there as well, planted up with java ferns, moss and so on. Perhaps add a big school of White clouds for extra movement.
