50 gallons of water = 400 pounds.
20 lbs of wet sand = 50? lbs (probably more)
30 lbs of rocks = 30 lbs
getting dripped on by your leaky ceiling the whole time your breaking down your favorite tank = priceless

what a fun 3 hours. for now the fish and filter are out in the garage in a temp tank. hopefully i can get a hold of my landlord and get this leak fixed. i have a feeling they might have to rip apart the ceiling and install some new drywall etc.

why did it have to be right over my big tank!??!! dang it all.

I'm guessing it would have been too easy to put a bucket on top of your tank to catch the drips?

Toss a tarp over the tank & fix the ceiling. You'd want to tarp the floor anyway for this sort of repair.

i just didnt feel confident with having people work on my ceiling right over my 4ft tank. like directly over the top of the tank. it just seems like an accident waiting to happen.

guys came and found out it was a leaky upstairs toilet. now to see what my landlord wants to do about the probable mold and damage.
