Howdy all!,

As some of you know i'm back... on a smaller scale but back. I've had my 36l tank up and running, housing a few cory juvi's while i search for a nice enough betta and i do this......

I buy a 110l tank... (yes it was only £10 but still!)

now in order to keep my testicles in place and not end up sleeping with the fishes (see what i did there?) i need to find a walnut effect unit to house the tank upon.

Now to me, looking at the way its built with the top sitting on the vertical ends on a solid base I would say it should hold. Just want a few people to re-assure me!. After all aren't most tanks this size basically sitting on a chipboard unit?

I save myself the worry and just build my own. Saves a ton of money and its not partical garbage of what you see here... nice sturdy real lumber is the way to go.

these kind of things scares me because you really cant tell. you just have to trust it will hold or build or buy one.

Personally I wouldn't buy anything that's not designed to hold a tank. The sides of that stand look quite thin to me wether it could hold its impossible to tell without taking the risk

I had a bit of paranoia myself when I bought my 30 gal, i did the math and it would weigh 435 lbs full of water!

My boyfriend got a really flimsy looking entertainment stand from his work for only 10$ he was so proud he bought it specifically for me.

I didn't trust it... so I put cinder blocks on the shelves and put my dvd's and cd's in front of them to hide them. There's about 1/4 in of space between the top most cinder block and the top where the fish tank is held, it's particleboard and it hasn't even bowed under the weight to rest on the cinder block, so I think you'll be fine :)
