My scenario: 10 GL, freshwater, 1 platy, 2 guppys, 2 corydoras.

As you may know, platys are famous for pooping. A lot. I didn't think guppys were though. Well, basically my tank floor gets covered with poop every 2 or 3 days. I'm certain I'm not overfeeding because I feed for less than 5 mins, 5 days a week, and they spend all day looking for food.

Well just for testing purposes, I haven't fed these guys for the past 3 days and yup, I still get the same amount of poop, in fact they are pooping as I write this thread. 3 days without feeding!

So I want to know, is this normal?

Off topic has anyone ever bought ferns from Petsmart, if so how are they?

Yes, it's normal, you just have to regularly syphon it off

I can vouch for the Guppy poo. Never seen such a mess.

Can't tell what is Cory poo, or how much they add to it as I've never seen them 'go', but it's like rain from the Guppies (well, you get the idea). Just did a water change and hoovered the whole tank, lifted up wood and moved stones to clean behind, by the time I'd refilled, more had appeared!

I do a little vac every 2-3 days depending how bad it is. Can usually get it in 5l, although sometimes it's nearer 10l depending on how accessible some of it is.

Platies are poo machines. I wouldn't say the same about guppies though.
If the tank is looking like a mess after 2-3 days without overfeeding you are either overcrowded or have poor filtration. Either way you need better filtration

my oranda is always pooping as well as at least 2 of my 3 variatus platys.
