He is definitely an awesome male indeed, and the female will be a great addition to the betta addiction I just wanted to help you out before you got too far along with this. If you haven't looked through it already the Bettysplendens.com website has lots of info on everything betta, breeding and feeding and whatnot. I wish you good luck in advance for whenever you do get the chance to spawn them!

yeah, I feel there is still a lot to learn. That female I bought was listed under halfmoons. I didn't realize about the rays in the tail, but now that you pointed it out, I really see the difference! Now I def. see that there is still more I need to learn, as I don't want to breed just to breed. Betta breeding isn't like livebearers at all. I have to have a setup, a plan, and a lot of patience. I just feel like I do not know enough, and because bettas can get tore up during the breeding, I want to make sure that I am prepared for anything that could happen. I guess i am kinda A.R. like that. (its the medical field imbedded in my brain)
