Cause i have 40 fry in a 10 gallon tank, and she said "Well we'll have to wait in a couple months and see if there is still 40+ left, cause they tend to eat each other"

"Uh... ok than... thank...you...."

IS THAT TRUE? O______O

Sounds ridiculous, mate.
That certainly wont happen. When rearing fry, just make sure water quality is good and they are fed 2-3times a day. For livebearers I recommend a good Spirulina flake food to balance.
They wont each other.

They might eat an already deceased sibling but they are certainly not going to turn into vicious predators. lol

What kind of fry are we talking about? If it is something like the more aggressive livebearers it could be a problem. If it is guppies, platies, mollies, guppies there will be little or no predation. Sweeping statements about fish in general are dangerous because it is like making a sweeping statement about mammals. Some mammals are gentle as a lamb but others are as fierce as a tiger. Wait a minute, those are both mammals. LOL

Platy fry should be fine with each other unless they are so crowded they have no place to swim.

No sweeping statements here oldman. If you had been following along you would know that he has 40 Platy fry from two different batches. lol I will excuse your failing memory due to old age.

No need to apologize, I was only joking. He has posted two threads recently in which he states that he has about 40 Platy fry. I had to look it up myself before I posted.

Thats just ridiculous. The fry do not eat each other. The only resaon they would was if they were starved for days.
