I went to my local fs tonight to get some catfish/plec fod and they had 4 lovely male bettas. I had every colour though and this is the shop I keep getting duff ones from. So I didnt buy any, they all looked quite happy! Joby will be so proud of me I think I have cured my consistent betta purchase syndrome!

I'm proud of you, liz! I've been testing myself in that respect, and I think I've discovered that I have some semblance of self-control! For example: today there was a beautiful blue girl who looked like a double-tail (though I wonder if "she" was a male plakat, as her fins were somewhat long and I didn't really notice an ovipositor) but might have just been getting over finrot. I was so very tempted to buy her, but I resisted (. . . for the time being). There was also a peach-and-red butterfly-colored boy that I swear screamed my name as I passed, but again, I resisted. Perhaps we're both getting over Compulsive Betta Buyer Syndrome.

I will be getting my seventh and eighth boys and my third girl in the mail soon. I have had bettas before the ones that I have now. So yeah...obsession has taken it's hold. Which is the reason for my signature, which needs to be updated.

I will be getting my first crowntail in the shipment I'm expecting. So I'm excited!

And I hate going to Walmart because I always want to go down the fish aisle and I don't get to cuz my mom is with me. But then when she isn't with me and I do go down there, I hate it because I always find five bettas that I want to take home with me...

I lie to my husband by saying I am driving to get a bit of shopping and then race to my lfs just in case...........

My name is l.michelle. I only have 4 bettas right now, two were bought about a week ago. Tonight I will be going to the petstore and buying another for my office. And I cleared room off my bookshelf this morning, so I will have room for another one at my home.

It wasn't so bad when I first got mortimer, as I had only him for 2 years, then the next two years of his life, I started to come on here, and got turned into an addict. And now I can't stop myself.

I'm Chrissi and I am addicted to bettas, but I have a bit of sensibility and buying supplies is REALLY expensive here, and I have to pay for university... so I can hold myself off a bit.

I only have one betta but I always want more... I love halfmoons, but my betta is a veiltail. However, I bought my mom a halfmoon + sibling female for mother's day... I get to see them on the weekends. I didn't think the female would be such a cutie. I am probably going to buy another tank so I can put some females together, I just love them!

The fish themselves aren't so expensive but it's the supplies... the plants, the gravel, the tank... it really gets to ya. I wish I had more cash and more room, I'd have TONS of bettas by now. It makes me sad that I can only have my little veiltail... I do love him though.

I know I will! I plan to breed them once I find myself out of university and in a stable residence! But that's a few years off... awwww it sucks.
