do you do that with every spawn? i remove the male as soon as the fry are free swimming, lol, too scared he will eat them. my first spawn i could have left him in longer as he was a dotting dad, but the latest spawn i didnt trust him

Depends upon the father if he eats teh babies then he will be removed immediately.
