There is some white goo that looks kinda like snot all over one of the fake plants in my aquarium. I'm doing a cycle with fish because I didn't here about fishless cycling until it was too late to return the fish. If anyone knows what this goo is please let me know. It is not very pleasant to look at and I'm worried that it might be a red-flag for something more serious.

 There are children in the house, but I doubt they have the skill to accurately fire a lugey onto a plant through 6 inches of water

good idea pica. It isn't possibly the beneficial bacteria I've been hearing so much about is it. If so I would not want to remove it

thanks pica. BTW one of your quotes states that "I am a idiot" shouldn't it be I am aN idiot? :D

on a more serious note I have a longer post in begginer's forum that I would appreciate your input on pica if you don't mind taking a look at it.

Yeah that's kinda what I thought, atleast it's what I hoped. I was worried about you for a min there. I see, when I read your quotes I didn't notice that you stupid retard was misspelled. I wouldn't have mentioned it if I had seen that one

Edit: The post I wanted you to look at was the one about the dead danios. When I asked it was on top but since then 2 of my old posts have come back to the top. Just clarifying

Did you rinse the plant in warm water before adding it to the tank? It could be some residue or dust or something from the manufacturers that turned gooey when mixed with water.

Well i personally did not rinse the plant. My sister gave us a bag of old plants that were in the attic for several years. My girl rinsed them off and put them in while I wasn't around. They were clean though I can vouch for that. There wasn't anything on that plant until this weekend.

Actually the kids are 2 3 and 10. The 2 and 3 year olds aint tall enough and the ten year old is hopefully too smart / too nice to do something like that :D

This sounds like the begining of a Stephen King novel.... Everything is semi okay-dokey in the family tank, and then a mysterious blob appears and all hell breaks loose....

I think I might have had this happen to me once, suck the evil blob out of the tank as soon as possible, in case it multiplies like Tribbles or crawls out of the tank....

Gee, and who says I read and watch too much tv? :alien:
