Hi, I have a snakeskin that seems to be really skinny for a gourami and she's not a big eater. I was wondering what should I do. Should I put her down? -_-

umm how about you dont kill the fish and save that as a last resort. If you are that worried and contemplating killing your fish you need to post this in the emergency section. Why would you just assume you need to kill it just because it wont eat???

I really do doubt I'm going to kill her. Last night she made an attempt to eat. I believe she was shy. She's hiding less and I'm keeping hope alive.

what are you offering her to eat? how big is the tank? what are her tankmates? how long have you had her for? what are your stats for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

Flake foods, baby shrimp and brine shrimp from time to time. 55 gallon. tankmates are peaceful. one angel, rummy nose tetras, rosy barbs. I've had her for about two weeks.

whats your stats for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate

i'd try a range of food stuffs, different flakes and pellet foods may be accepted along with live treats such as bloodworm and daphnia or frozen foods

get a cup of hot water.. pop in 4-5 frozen peas, leave 2-3 mins, remove from cup, remove shells, crush between your fingers. Try a little in the tank to see if they like it. My gouramis go mad for a little pea every once in a while.
