 i think the best answer would be to introduce a hybrid predtor that is larger like a hybrid striped bass.one thing about hybrids is they cant breed they will eat anything eel like and grow up to 36 inches long.versus posioning the lake fisherman can also enjoy the fishing once the snakeheads are under control.or pay a bounty to the fishermen 1 dollar a snakehead.

although im not really religious :p the snakehead will rule the earth

Should be two polls. No they should not be released into the wild IMO. Too many people don't seem to realize what happens when you introduce animals into an ecosystem. I would go into it more but if you wonder what is so wrong about it you can do a search as easily as I can on invasive species. Carp come to mind.

Poisoning whole lakes seems wrong but it can be better to kill all the fish in one lake compared to the fish killing all other species in whole aquafers.

It really pisses me off that people release their fish into the wild. Kill it if you can not find other places or people to take it, and for goodness sake don't buy another one. If you think it is cruel to kill it, it is far worse to release it and have that one fish eat all the other fish in that body of water. Let alone having that fish(es) breed and take over an area.

Sorry if I seem harsh and rude, but the damage from people doing such things is HUGE so I do get adamant about it.

But still sorry if this comes across as too

Those "scientists", who made a decision to poisoning lake(s), should really study something about that fish. Poisoning doesn't help. I was really amused when I saw article that some men put poison into water and all fishes dies except snakeheads and those men were surprised. What did they expect anyway? Why didn't they study first before start to poison? It was irrational...

"Do and watch, then learn" or "Study first, then consider and study more before doing anything" ?

This is not on. This is also the third post about humans ruining fish in bad ways. First it was the Glofish, then it was the flowerhorn fish or something now this?! Some humans will never learn, never.

I see nothing wrong with releasing any naturally occuring fish into the wild...

As long as you release them in the place that they come from in the first pl ace!

People are idiots for releasing the fish into lakes and even bigger idiots for poisoning the lakes to try to kill them. I really hate people that release their fish into the wild. If they researched before buying fish they would realize some fish should only be owned by dedicated enthusiasts. Instead they buy fish and then down the road they realize that they either don't have room or get bored with the pet. Then they release it into the wild where it manages to live and ruin its new environment. I read all the time about fish released into the wild and how they can upset the natural balance. Some people released lionfish on the atlantic coast so there are pockets of them living where they should not naturally live. If people would actually be responsible for their actions things like this would not happen!

Never ever ever release a fish that you purcased at the lfs into the wild if you catch a fish out in the wild and put it in a very sterile tank with other thing from your area you can put it back but even if a fish is wild caught in a stream in your back yard if you purchase it at your LFS it was routed throught tanks that probably have had all sorts of nasty parasites in them and fish in the wild dont get treatmant.

The idea of releasing snakeheads into their unatural enviroments can and will have catastrophic consequences on the eco system. A few years back here in Maryland an idiot released a few in a local pond. They were quickly eating everything that moved in the pond and was soon going to run out of food. At that point they would then move on to the next body of water. While poisoning the lake may seem harsh it was the only way to ensure their eradication. Can you imagine what kind of damage they could do if they spawned and spread out? Certainly alot worse then the poisoning of one pond.
