Here is an update of the Channa Gachua snakehead that i got a few weeks ago, if you look in my profile and select my topics then you can scroll down and see the thread if you want to

He likes to go round "flaring", but they are much cooler than bettas :p . I introduced a BN plec into the tank last week and he didnt like it at first, had a couple of squabbles with it, but they tolerate each other now, BNs are feisty things and the snakehead was often chased off by it no problem.

BTW his name is wilfred  helsekia named him, honest.

the last picture shows the great pattern and colour that his fins have when he flares, and he has a good colour all over now really, the pics dont really do him justice.

His colours are comming up really nicely now arent they, im glad to see hes doing well.

thanks cfc, yes they are, he had a bit of a colour boost when the BN was added i think.

forgot to add, thanks to cfc for this fantastic fish ;)

Yeah awesome fish, was consideiring one for my 38g, as you can see from my pic<<< I like snakeheads... :shifty:

thanks cane and mike, yeah im really pleased with him, great character, grumpy little thing sometimes though, feeding well to say the least lol, the shrimp only just hit the water and hes there and snapped it up :S

I'm thinking of buying a bleheri, do they get on with kribs and such? and do they dig?

going by your profile i would not put with the fish you have in because black widow tetras would be eaten and to be honest I wouldnt put a bleheri in with kribs as kribs are relatively peaceful and may be too small to go with bleheri, but someone may correct me on this. Bleheri are pretty much the same as Gachua just bleheri are more colourful, hence the common name "bleheri", and the BN I put in with this gachua did not get a nice welcome at all, I floated the bag with the BN in in the snakeheads tank and the snakehead snapped at the bag every time the BN moved. After a while it calmed down and I released the BN into the tank and they had quite a few squabbles where the snakehead went for the BN and the BN chased the snakehead away. If it were a krib instead of a BN then it wouldnt have standed a chance IMO, the only reason the BN was ok is because they are feisty little buggars and they can actually chase a snakehead away, I think the krib would be the one swimming away in that situation not the snakehead.

Swap you for.... two tetras, a danio and a pair of killies?

 nah uh feeshy :p
