Hi

Going to be getting two of these snakeheads soon but would love to know their true latin name so I can get the temperature / conditions right before they arrive. So if anyone can identify the picture that would be great.

it looks like a young skinny Channa Pulchra to me, although I;m no expert and only know the channa I have kept

I dont know if it helps but ive got further info that its common name is BLUE MOON GALAXY, does that ring any bells as to its true name?

not at all sorry lol, most snakeheads are just called their sceintific name or an shortened version of it

Ey looks like channa Pulchra to me, Channa ornatipinnis are like blood brothers, except for spots on face are larger on ornatipinnis

Hi.
The fish in that picture is indeed a Blue Moon Galaxy.
It is being kept in warmer water so it's colors are not showing.

I have owned a few of these, and take my advice:

Don't bother spending money on these unless you know for surenyou can keep your water at a very stable 10-15c.
They like most dwarf snakeheads, are sub-tropical, but these guys really do need cool water.
If kept warmer than what I recommended they become super stressed, become very dull and get sick most likely dying.
