I have no idea where it came from. I thouraly inspected my plants and rinsed them before adding. Obviously not well enough!
The plants were added 3wks ago. I have also added julii corys and gouramis.

I just found 2 snails on my tank and instantly sucked them out for close inspection.
What type is it if you can tell. Also is it a pest one? I'm on the hunt for others. As these two are different sizes I'm sure there are more

I have the exact same snails that have hitchhiked in with the plants. I also washed and wiped the plants so carefully but I have counted 3 snails so far. Haven't removed them and will watch this thread to see if I should.

Look to be common pond snails. No matter how much rinsing I do, I always miss a few of the little buggers. They can become a nuisance quite quickly, tho they typically don't hurt healthy plants, preferring the dying bits. Put a piece of lettuce on the bottom of the tank over night and pull it out in the morning, snails will generally be all over it if you have a real infestation. The other option would be to add a group of Botia if your tank is large enough.

They common pest/pond snails, a handfull of them in a tank is not a bad thing. Despite what you read on here they cannot multiply without a food source no food no breeding :good:
