What's new

Snails

Ones that come in uninvited (usually on live plants). They tend to breed a lot and can get out of hand if you're overfeeding the tank, but don't generally cause a problem.

It won't stay at five for very long though!

They're not bad, IME, but they can look unsightly if there are too many.

They breed. Then grow. Then Breed. :hyper: I squish mine and feed them to my fishes. Sounds mean but they chomp on em and its like free food.

I mean how do they get their in the first place

Oh, mine got in when I brought home some new plants. There were sneaky snails eggs on them that I didn't see.

Ahhh I see now, so if I was to get them I my tank an they start getting out of hand how would I get rid of them?

I only saw them a lot a few days after I got the plants...but now I only see maybe 1 a day. If its within easy reach I squish it. They shouldn't get bad unless you overfeed and theres a lot of leftover food in there for them to eat. But if they do get bad, I've read that throwing in a piece of lettuce overnight will attract a bunch and you can toss them out...then repeat.
