Snails!

Hi all, I have a problem with snails in my male betta divided tank.
I literally have HUNDREDS maybe thousands !!
They are the usual aquarium small snail, but everyday there seem to be so many on each divider!!
What causes them and how can I get rid of them?? Do they cause any trouble??

feed less, less food = less snails surviving. Put some veg in there for them to eat the night before, then in the morning remove it with some of them on it, bin it, repeat as necessary. Crunch them with your finger etc etc. Or just have a good clean out.

they'll not cause trouble.

Try feeding less, less food = less population survival.

What most people do is get assassin snails (they'll eat the pest snails) OR put a piece of lettuce in the tank and then remove the lettuce in the morning with attached snails (what you then do with the removed snails is up to you).

They come in as eggs or tiny babies on plants, gravel etc. They will feed on excess food so feeding less equals less snails.

You can use a piece of cucumber of lettuce - put it in the tank overnight, in the morning there should be snails on it and you can just remove the whole thing. Mostly, if I see them I squash them against the glass with the flat of a knife (other half uses his fingers ) and then they'll fall into the tank and the fish will usually eat them.

I had the same problem. Went out a bought myself 6 assassin snails. Withing a month, could hardly see any little snails. Assassins are great workers!

They are, I also originally bought 6. I now have somewhat more than that.
