I'd made an objective of not using the forum today, and now have failed miserably....(but a part of me is still glad though)

Thanks for your offer, but......
.....upon hearing my plight, a mate of mine, who is an accomplished aquarist, had just today given me two types of snails in which to breed. One of which is the 'biomphalaria glabrata' variety, the first type i.d.'d in your pictures, and the other is ice-cream cone-shaped (unfortunately, I haven't seen this snail identified anywhere on the Internet).
I think the 'conies' has started having babies, because I have just seen a very tiny white snail-like object slowly gliding up one side of the glass. One out, hopefully many more to be born.
I won't forget your kind offer, smithrc. If you need advice on any of the fishes I have, I'd be glad to provide it.
