want to try breeding tetras and more danios but snails eat eggs

Hi glass cats :)

If you add a fish to the tank to eat the snails, what will you do when they are gone?

The best way to reduce the number of them is to pick them out. The best way to keep the number down is to remove their food source. Without food they will stop breeding.

If excess algae is the problem, you might want to post in the planted tank section to find out how to control it. If you are feeding your fish to much, you could either feed them less or vacuum the bottom more often. It would probably be best if you do both. :D

fish like the clown loach eat more than just snails but i c wot ya mean and thanks for advice would b much easier if i didnt have to pick them out as the big ones have gone i now have loadsa babies which some i can hardly see. when i get me new tank friday though all my gravel and plants will be new and washed so should solve the problem than gonna strip evrything down in old tank and prepare it for my next lot of fish which im not decided on mayb some live bearers or some cichlids might get some ideas asking these lot here

Hi,

Other loaches will eat snails. If you have room zebra loaches are nice and only grow about 4 inches long, they should be kept in groups of 3+. If you sell the snails on ebay people will buy them to feed to their puffer fish. Try advertising in the buy sell swap section on here.
