Hey I noticed the pond snails move substantially slower in sand. wondering if perhapse I could slow thier mad reproduction using fine sand as it would take longer for them to move around to mate and eat

just a thought

Probably not. I have lots of them in my 30g with sand and an abundance of them and some that mysteriously made it to my 10g and are reproducing in there too.

crush them with your fingers for snail control :flex:

just kiddin !

yup my tank had a sand subsrate before and altough the snails did have a hard time moving through the sand it isn't really a big problem for them because...... snails have all the time in the world :p hehehe

well It was a thought as I'm slowly converting from gravel to sand

it apears that sand didnt work as they have slowly moved there way to all of my plants and hmmmm its easier to munch on the plants then to venture all the way back out to the gravel so 80% of the snails are now munching away there

though it does make it easier to pick them out

lol
