Im thinking of buying some snails to add to my tank. I dont really have room for larger mystery snails (nor do i want them in my 10g) so im gonna buy some common river type snails. I have lots of drift wood and such for them to live on, and my betta will eat a few for pop'n control.

Ive heard horror stories about snails taking over tanks, how bad can it get? For example, how many could my 10G have? I dont want it covered but if i end up getting many, but not enough to COVER everything then it would be fine... could use the cleaning.

The most I'd say is 10 snails.
I know in SW your supposed to have a snail for every gallon of water.
I've never delt with FW snails, so i don't know.
I do know, that bettas might not take control of it. And when you deal with snails, you might want to be prepaired to...erm...do full tank termination.
