My 260ltr tank has acquired some unwelcome visitors.
Snails.
At first I only saw two and thought two would be ok in such a large tank. After a couple of weeks they had increased in number so I removed all the ones I could find (about 20).
I have tried API snail remover (no joy).
I have bought 3 assassin snails, now I can't find them & my snail problem is increasing.
Is there anything I can do, besides removing them manually?
Are three assassins enough (if not how many should I be looking at).

Tank is stocked with Corys, Tetras and Glass Catfish.

i had loads of pest snails in my 500L someone told me 5 per 15 gallons i put about 15 in and about 6 weeks the had taken out 70% of them

Yes, stop overfeeding. There's lots of food for them in there if they are reproducing that fast.  Once the tank has no left over food and debris, the population will decrease to a minimum overtime. Use the snails as indication of what's going on inside the tank.
For complete eradication, I am not sure to be honest. But snails are part of the chain in a tank and eat stuff other occupants can't get to. Better than having rotting stuff inside the tank developing all kinds of germs.

Snazy is right on the overfeeding thing. Once you've sorted that, the assassins will eventually get rid of the rest of them. If you're lucky, they will also breed, and have a certain resale value.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't think I was over feeding but I will reduce the amount and frequency. I'll get a few more assassins and see how things go. I'll keep you updated.

How big do Assassins grow and how long does it take for them to get to breeding size? We have three at work about 2cm long and are no longer ordering in anymore as our supplier has stopped supplying them.. Was wondering if it was worth getting them and attempting to breed ;)
