I thought that snails could only lay eggs outside of the water? I have little clumps of what look light eggs in my water attached to the tank wall.

I often encounter snail eggs on the leaves of plants, on decorations, and on the glass and many species are opportunistic layers. One species, however is a livebearer, though.

I find that not feeding the fish for a few days does a great job with population control, as does manually removing them. Avoid the temptation to use a chemical remover, as you can also harm beneficial invertebrates (shrimp, etc).

Well they dont harm my plants and actually look like they are cleaning my tank so they aren't that bad but my 2 clown loaches control the population. :p

Dont know where you got that from but Alot of snails that live in water lay eggs in water.
Except the Apple snail

I have the same problem in my fry tank. Try this. Add a slice of cucumber to the tank, wait..................

Snails should flock to it, once theres loads on it, remove it from the tank.

It doesn't cure the problem, but goes a long way towards population control. :good:
