Hey all :)
I seem to have been over-run with these tiny snails. They look like apple snails but a miniature version and are a browny-grey colour with black spots on them. i know they arent baby apple snails because im controlling the breeding of the ones i do have and i havent hatched out any eggs for atleast three months now and there are still tiny snails in my tank.

I have some plants floating at the top of my tank waiting to go to a new home but they look awful with small holes all over them and im considering growing off-shoots that are in better condition. It mostly seems to be a problem with the plants at the top of the tank but i have noticed a hole in my small crypt. wendtii also

any ideas?

im trying to syphon out the snails as i see them but want to make sure it is related to this first and not some crazy aquatic plant disease :/

dosing 5mls of TPN+ daily. My Co2 is a bit out of whack lately but it has been for a while and the holes appeared about two weeks ago

If something's been out of whack, my inclination is to say that it is a deficiency rather than snails on the rampage. How long have you been dosing 5ml?

If plants are visibly larger, it makes a lot of sense to dose more. If plants were growing very well, I would be changing my dosing pretty quickly to reflect their demands. Bigger plants = more food. Important, though to get that CO2 back on track...

Thank god for that lol, recently noticed loads of those in my planted tank and started to worry. Thought I was gonna find some holes for a min, I'm sure my Assassin Snail will be on the case soon tho. Think mine came in with some plants from The Green Machine.

i thought the dose was rather large anyway. Ill try upping it. I thought id got the co2 sorted the other day but between spending my time here, at my boyfriends and at college i hadnt notice that water had back syphoned into the co2 set up and no air was coming out. Im surprised the yeast bottles didnt explode.
I have proper measures for yeast and funnels now so its just my part in it all that needs fixing now
