Yes. I mean snail breeding. 'Course, I could just smack two together but.. heheh... no. I only have a few fake plant tanks (for my bettas) and those are cleaned weekly, harsh and impossible to breed. Will snails breed in one gallon? (i mean, duh, but...?)

Snails will breed in anything! :D What kind of snails though? Apple snails (even pomacea brigesii, the little ones) make so much mess! My 2gal is dedicated to one apple snail and it is filthy.

Probably apple snails (which go for three bucks at the pet shop, :shout: expensive but, if I get little babies.. cha ching.) because the pet shop only sells apple snails. Well, mystery snails? Mine is an albino mystery snail. Is there a difference? Because I would get the smae kind.

There are many subspecies, brigesii are usually the ones in pet shops. There are colour variations but they would still breed.

If you are planning to sell them to your LFS, ask them if they want them first because often they will not take things they can breed easily.

Yeah, they already said they would take them in I'm not sure I want to breed them because I don't know how many eggs I'll get. :shout: 1,000 snails.. ahhh.

Oh cool. :) Mine have more than enough snails, they would die if I tried to sell them some.

They're surprisingly fun to watch, messy buggers though.

I must have a Mystery snail. It eats plants (learned by experiance) and sucks the glass quite often, plus has no siphon.

Why dont you consider malaysian trumpet snails? Not as much colour choice as apple's (there being only 3 types of MTS to my knowledge, the commmon, the spike-tail and the mahogany) but you don't even need 2 snails to start breeding... One snail will... ehm... breed itself...

Plus, they won't need air to lay their eggs, and if you have a sandy bottom, they will aereate that for you :D

I could, if I had a source to buy them.

If you ask in the buy/sell/swap section of the forum you might get someone to send some to you cheaply. Most people who have them will have a good supply as they breed so quickly.

What would the estimated price be? I looked on aquabid and it's mostly a larger number of snails (why in god's sake would I need 100 apple snails?!)

Would I need sand for this snail or small gravel? Sand is a bit of an inconveniance for me.
